🌍 BLOSSOM INC: Strengthening Child Protection in Guyana – A Partnership in Action
Across Guyana’s remote regions, children and families face challenges that often go unseen — from exposure to violence and trauma, to lack of access to mental health care and safe shelter.
Through our partnership with Blossom Incorporated, BB Energy Foundation is helping change that reality. Together, we’re strengthening Guyana’s child protection system — ensuring that every child, no matter where they live, can access safety, care, and the chance to thrive.
Supporting Vulnerable Children:
From July to September 2025, Blossom’s Mobile Child Advocacy Centre (CAC) has been operating across hinterland communities, providing case management, therapy, and foster care placement for vulnerable and migrant children. The CAC offers survivor-centred services — forensic interviewing, trauma-informed counselling, and psychosocial support — in partnership with the Childcare and Protection Agency and local authorities.
Already, nine forensic interviews have been conducted for child survivors of abuse, one successful foster placement completed, and ten therapy sessions delivered for children and adults facing trauma, anxiety, and depression. Behind these numbers are powerful stories of recovery — like a young girl now thriving in a safe foster home, and a family of nine migrant children receiving ongoing medical and psychological support.
Building Systems for Long-Term Change:
Blossom’s work also reaches entire communities. Awareness sessions and parent education programmes are being rolled out to teach positive parenting, reduce stigma around mental health, and improve understanding of gender-based violence.
At the systems level, Blossom is strengthening inter-agency collaboration between social services, police, and health providers — building the foundations for a lasting, trauma-informed child protection network across Guyana.
A Shared Vision:
This partnership reflects our shared belief: change is most sustainable when it is community-driven and locally led. By investing in women-led organisations like Blossom Inc., we’re supporting local expertise, strengthening trust, and helping ensure that every child grows up with safety, dignity, and hope.
Together, we’re building systems of protection that will outlast any single project — shaping a future where every child can grow, heal, and dream.

Understanding Rwanda’s Recent History Through Film
Rwanda’s recent history is both painful and important to understand. The 1994 genocide against the Tutsi had a devastating human impact and continues to shape conversations around justice, healing, and reconciliation today. We have highlighted two films, The Uncondemned and Hotel Rwanda, which offer valuable historical and human perspectives on this period, helping viewers engage more deeply with the experiences of those who lived through it.
