Blossom Incorporated is a leading civil society organisation in Guyana committed to preventing and responding to violence against women and children, while also supporting vulnerable migrant populations, particularly those affected by the Venezuelan influx. Recognised as a key partner in child protection, Blossom operates Child Advocacy Centres (CACs) and extended services that serve as one-stop centres for reporting, treating, preventing, and managing child sexual abuse, alongside providing essential psychosocial support to children and families.

Working closely with children, families, and migrant communities in remote hinterland regions, Blossom creates safe and supportive spaces where healing, resilience, and protection can grow. Their approach combines trauma-informed care, case management, legal advocacy, mental health support, and community outreach to ensure children and families receive timely and holistic assistance.

Through their Strengthening Child Protective Services For Migrant and Host Community Children And Families in Guyana’s Hinterland Areas project, Blossom provides:

• Child Advocacy & Case Management: Mobile CACs deliver forensic interviews, structured case management, and victim support for children affected by abuse, neglect, or exploitation.
• Mental Health & Psychosocial Support: Trauma-focused therapy for children and families, including Spanish-speaking services for migrant communities.
• Foster & Alternative Care: Placement of children in safe, culturally appropriate foster or kinship care with financial support for families.
• Education & Awareness: Community workshops, parenting programs, and outreach activities to raise awareness on child protection, GBV prevention, and children’s rights.
• Emergency Assistance: Provision of transportation, shelter, food, and other urgent support for children and families in crisis.

Blossom’s work directly aligns with several Sustainable Development Goals, including SDG 1 (No Poverty), SDG 3 (Good Health & Well-Being), SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 5 (Gender Equality), SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities), SDG 16 (Peace, Justice & Strong Institutions), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). Their services strengthen child protection systems, improve mental health and well-being, enhance access to education, and empower families and communities to prevent violence against children.
