ASF (Association Solidarité Féminine)

Strengthening mother–child resilience through protection, skills, and inclusion

Association Solidarité Féminine (ASF) is a pioneering Moroccan non-profit organisation dedicated to supporting and empowering single mothers and their children. For over 40 years, ASF has worked to prevent child abandonment by offering mothers the opportunity to regain stability, autonomy, and dignity through holistic social, educational, and economic support. Recognised as an organisation of public interest since 2002, ASF remains one of the leading voices for the rights and inclusion of single mothers in Morocco.

ASF’s mission is rooted in a simple but transformative belief: that every mother deserves the chance to build a secure and fulfilling life for herself and her child. To achieve this, the organisation offers an integrated support model combining legal, medical, psychological, social, and vocational assistance. This comprehensive approach strengthens the mother–child bond, supports early childhood development, and prepares women for long-term economic independence.

The organisation is especially renowned for its professional training programmes in traditional cuisine, pastry-making, and modern catering. These trainings take place within ASF’s income-generating units — safe, professional environments where mothers gain hands-on experience, acquire certified skills, and build the confidence needed to enter the job market or launch their own micro-enterprises. Alongside vocational training, ASF provides nursery care, literacy programmes, personalised coaching, and legal support, ensuring that the path toward empowerment is both holistic and sustainable.

Through its social protection and economic empowerment model, ASF provides:

  • Professional training for single mothers, including traditional cooking, pastry-making, and fast-food catering — all linked to real income-generating units.
  • Comprehensive social support, combining legal assistance, psychological care, health follow-up, and personalised accompaniment.
  • Early childhood services, with nursery care that includes medical, nutritional, and psychomotor support for children.
  • Literacy and life-skills education, enabling mothers to navigate administrative processes, strengthen autonomy, and plan for the future.
  • Advocacy and awareness, challenging social stigma and promoting the rights of single mothers across Morocco.

ASF’s work contributes directly to SDG 1 (No Poverty) by supporting long-term economic stability; SDG 3 (Good Health & Well-being) through medical and psychosocial support for mothers and children; SDG 4 (Quality Education) through vocational and literacy training; SDG 5 (Gender Equality) by empowering women facing severe social exclusion; SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) via training and employment pathways; and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities) by breaking cycles of poverty and stigma.

The BB Energy Foundation is proud to partner with Association Solidarité Féminine on the project “Mothers in the Spotlight”, an initiative that strengthens vocational training streams, stabilises ASF’s income-generating programmes, and expands opportunities for single mothers to build dignified, independent lives. Together, we are supporting women to access professional qualifications, secure stable livelihoods, and provide their children with a safe, nurturing start — fostering long-term resilience for families and communities across Casablanca.
