Organisation dedicated to protecting and advancing the rights of women and children. Established in 1991, it has played a central role in strengthening access to justice across the country, ensuring that women and girls are supported, heard, and able to live free from violence and discrimination.
With its head office in Kigali and regional teams working across all provinces, Haguruka is deeply embedded in the communities it serves. Its work combines legal expertise, psychosocial support, and evidence-based advocacy to create safer, more equitable environments for women and children.

Through their Access to Justice and GBV Prevention Programme, Haguruka provides:
Haguruka’s work aligns closely with SDG 5 (Gender Equality) and SDG 16 (Peace, Justice & Strong Institutions). Their programmes advance equal rights, improve access to justice, promote community safety, and support national efforts to reduce gender-based violence.
The BB Energy Foundation is proud to partner with Haguruka in Rwanda. Together, we are supporting initiatives that empower women and girls to claim their rights, strengthen justice systems, and build a future where every individual can live free from violence.
